Break out the champagne and celebrate. 2022 has come to a close. But wait. Do you have cause for celebration? Do you think that you deserve to celebrate? I mean really, so what, the Earth made it around the Sun, woohoo!
This writer is a firm believer that being here is worth celebrating. Seeing 2023 is worth celebrating. Through the wins and the losses, you are here. Through the good and the bad, you are here. 2022 has not been the best of years for a lot of people, heck, the last decade has not been the best of years for a lot of people but through it all, you are here. That is cause for celebration.
It is important to take every opportunity we can to celebrate. Celebrate every win. As humans, we thrive on positive reinforcement. And the only way that we are going to continue to grow is with a positive mindset. Consider both the small and the big wins and don’t compare them to anyone else. Having enough time to get a coffee before getting to the office might be a small win for some but getting out of bed in the morning might be a big win for others.
Celebrate in the way that works best for you. Whether that’s getting drunk with friends and acting a fool or sitting at home watching a movie or reading a good book. Being here is cause for celebrations. Saying hello to 2023 is something worth celebrating.
Waving goodbye to 2022, this writer is skeptical because a new year doesn’t mean a reset on things but just a continuation of what has and what will. We are creatures of habit. We have seen history repeat itself many times. Will things get better, based on our past, eventually yes, but I am hopeful that 2023 will be the beginning of better years to come.
